The Denver Botanic Gardens is bringing gardeners an exciting and valuable new online resource. Gardens Navigator allows you to search for plants growing at the York Street location by common or scientific name or by features or garden. Navigator can also help you find plants that bloom at certain times or by flower or leaf color to help you design your own garden.
Explains Cindy Newlander, Associate Director of Horticulture, "Gardens Navigator's detailed maps allows you to find where trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and even many annuals are planted in the outdoor gardens and conservatory. Dig deeper and you can view more information about each plant including photos, bloom time and detailed cultural data."
You can take one of the pre-designed tours, such as the Cherry Blossom Blitz tour or create your own tour. I decided to make a tour of Agastache (Hyssop). The Botanic Gardens lists 19 species of Agastache in numerous locations. What a great way to compare and contrast which ones you like the best when you can see so many in person.
You can also access Navigator while visiting the Gardens via a smart phone or other Wi-Fi enabled device.
