Housebound? Make simple container greenhouses by Vicky Spelman

 So, now you probably have many of your seeds started and soon the seedlings will need to be planted up to larger containers but still in need of protection.  Here are some easy to do ideas.  You probably already have the DIY containers around that would work to do this.


Those plastic containers (above) can be up-cycled to double as miniature greenhouses.   The plastic liters that pop come in make handy miniature greenhouses.

Some of these (above) could also double as cloches in the planted garden to protect the plants during cooler nights.  You will want to be able to open them up during the day or take off completely.   



The milk jugs could be utilized for starting plants but also as a greenhouse to house the planted up plants.  Then as cloches later in the garden.

The plastic bins above could be used upside down also.  Important to be able to open up
during the day.  And they are portable for
easy moving.
