Introducing New Staff Members by Vicky Spelman

We would like to introduce two of our new staff members.

Hania Oleszak

Please welcome Hania Oleszak as our new CSU Extension Agent for Horticulture, Plant Pathology and Food Systems. Hania has her Bachelors in biology from Boston College and her Masters in Soil Science from CSU. While she has previous experience working at Cornell Extension on vegetable pathology and plant breeding research, she's excited to delve deeper into the horticultural field in this position. Hania’s also passionate about sustainable food systems and regenerative agriculture, so she's especially looking forward to exploring and contributing to Jefferson County's food system. When Hania’s not at work, you're likely to find her skiing or rock climbing, tending her house plants or her cat, or cooking something up in the kitchen!

Erin Decker

Please welcome Erin Decker as the new Volunteer Coordinator for Colorado Master Gardeners and Native Plant Masters.  Erin is delighted for this opportunity to help CSU Extension expand the volunteer experience for Colorado Master Gardeners and Native Plant Masters. She enjoys being involved in bridging access to community resources and building partnerships. Among her recent work experience is conducting research and shaping dissemination for the CAPS community gardening study, with the University of Colorado and Denver Urban Gardens.  She also managed social media, IT and marketing at a small pediatric therapy practice. Erin has spoken Spanish since childhood, which she used to produce bilingual programming for Denver Public Library. When not at work, Erin makes multi-media art, travels, works in the garden, and spends time with family—both the fur and human sorts.

We hope you will join us and become a CSU Colorado Master Gardener at the Jeffco Extension.  https://cmg.extension.colostate.edu/?fbclid=IwAR10yq9QVbzVdD_bayhOhZAASDzcSru1jrAM0kT7VH1ICCEi8tsHK2o_eDU
