Power-flower – the USB sunflower
A press release issued by Thompson & Morgan’s horticultural innovators in 2014 was about the amazing FlowerPower product, which could charge an iPad or mobile phone and had a waterproof USB port in its stem.  Of course, it was a prank, but would have been neat and useful if real.

Spaghetti Tree
In 1957, when spaghetti wasn’t as common as it is now, many people thought this prank was real.  The photo shows a family in Switzerland harvesting their spaghetti crop grown in a tree!  Some viewers actually called in to ask how to obtain and grow a spaghetti tree.

Doughnut Seeds
Who knew you could grow doughnuts from seeds!  If only!
